Chalk Drawings

N2 love chalk but more often than not, they want someone else to draw them pictures on the driveway.  They will tell me what to draw and I am supposed to draw it.  Luckily they ask for things that I can draw-penguins, ladybugs, sailboats, rainbows, butterflies, hearts, etc.  After I draw, they like to take out the big push broom and brush over my masterpieces.  They can only brush over pictures drawn for them or else a fit will ensue.  My poor masterpieces:

A Skill I Don't Have

My children are able to do something I can't do: use chop sticks.  They insist on eating their Chinese food with chopsticks.  Their technique may not be correct but N2 can use them to get food to their mouths!

Finger Food

A while ago I had dyed some pasta so that N2 could thread it.  I realized that I really didn't have pasta with big enough holes to thread.  So I told Brian to buy pasta that could be threaded easily.  He came home with a pasta shorter than penne and with a much wider hole.  I don't know the name!  I never got around to dying it and Brian made it for N2 the other day.  It was quite a hit!

I think they ate more pasta than they normally do because they could put the pieces on their fingers!

Public Works Open House

We went to the Public Works open house on Saturday.  It was quite a hot day!  Some of the trucks had gotten too hot to sit in.  Luckily the front end loader and the snow plow were not too hot!  I would have to say that N2 got in the front end loader at least 8 times each.  Luckily it wasn't too crowded so we could go from one big vehicle to another!  We also enjoyed free hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy!  Plus free coloring books, pencils, water bottles and balloons!  As you saw in the last post, N2 enjoyed the police cars as well.

Like I said, it was hot.  So N2 found a great place to cool down.

They also learned how to dial 911 (red-yellow-yellow).  The police says that often times kids this young don't know their numbers but they can learn to dial a number by colors.  So they give you free stickers to put on your phone so your child can call 911 via the colors.  Natalie especially practiced with the "play" phone.  She actually got to talk to an operator on the other side of the phone (who was sitting right next to the play house).  She learned to say that she needed help and she would give her name. Now whether she could do it in a real emergency is another story.  We now have red and yellow stickers on our phone at home.  Hopefully they will not continue to practice dialing at home!

What did my children do?

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Can you tell where they are?

Bail was denied.

New favorite place

Recently N2 have discovered that they can get onto the roof of their play house.  That has become their favorite place to go when they are outside.  It scares me a little but what can I do?

Don't you love Noah's outfit?  I think those camo shorts are his favorite ones and that Toy Story dinosaur shirt is also a favorite.  He thinks Buzz Lightyear is on his shirt and I'm sorry to say he is not.  But I haven't told Noah that.  Here are N2 practicing roaring.  I'm not sure why they decided to roar but they wanted pictures of them roaring on top of the house.
