Wauconda Fire Station Open House

The Wauconda Fire Station Open House was the same day as Pumpkin Fest at Didiers.  So after we went to the farm, we dropped by the fire station to see all the trucks.  We got to see so many of the trucks, practice calling 911 and talking to a dispatcher, see a demonstration of the jaws of life (watching them pull doors off a car) and seeing a diver in a tank of water.  It was fun but cold.  We didn't stay as long as we would normally have stayed-I think they were both tired and cold.  Noah was very hesitant about going in the trucks as he is every year!  Their favorite part was when all the fireman had to leave (we were eating lunch a all of a sudden a lot of men got up and left-they were called to an emergency).

Natalie has recently learned how to buckle and unbuckle seat belts.  She had to strap herself in and says "Seat belts, so we can be safe!"  She can unbuckle the top buckle on her car seat and when I turn off my car, I turn around and she has it undone.  As far as I know she only undoes it when we get in the garage.
